Hauling Permit
St. Lawrence County requires haulers of all overweight or over-dimension loads to obtain County issued permits in addition to required NYSDOT permits. Completed applications can be mailed to 44 Park St. Canton, NY 13617, faxed (315-379-1061) or emailed to [email protected]. Currently St. Lawrence County only accepts checks or cash. Checks are to be made out to St. Lawrence County Dept. of Highways.

Utility Permit
St. Lawrence County requires all individuals/contractors who seek to perform work within the St. Lawrence County ROW to obtain a Utility Work Permit. This permit covers activities such as, aerial line work, below surface cable installation, boring, excavation and drilling. Completed applications can be mailed to 44 Park St. Canton, NY 13617, faxed (315-379-1061) or emailed to [email protected]. Currently St. Lawrence County only accepts checks or cash. Checks are to be made out to St. Lawrence County Dept. of Highways.
Driveway Permit
St. Lawrence County requires all individuals/contractors who seek to have a new driveway installed on a County Road to obtain a County issued driveway permit. Completed applications and fee can be mailed or dropped off to 44 Park St. Canton, NY 13617. All questions can be emailed to [email protected].
Upon receipt of application and application fee ($50.00), Highway personnel will review site and provide Permit Notice. Individual/contractor will then have the choice to install driveway or have Highway crew install for fee listed on schedule. A permit will then be issued. Please note, if an individual/contractor is to install driveway, a Utility Work Permit application (fee waived) must be submitted along with insurance certificate meeting requirements.
