Brief Description of Services:
To educate, advise and assist county government, local governments, local property owners, and the public in general, in the area of real property assessment administration. One of the most visible functions is to provide updated tax maps on an annual basis to local town and village assessing units and the City of Ogdensburg. The office trains and assists local assessors in the annual preparation of assessment and tax rolls for towns, schools and villages. Corrections to tax rolls and bills are processed through this office.
Data Collection:
St. Lawrence County Personnel typically use this vehicle or one similar to review properties for data collection and to take photos of the properties. This helps in updating property records of each municipality in St Lawrence County. Photo of Car
Property Class Codes Available:
The Office of Real Property Services has developed a simple and uniform classification system to be used in assessment administration in New York State. A simple Property Class Code listing has been added to the County Web Site as well as the NYSORPTSA 37 page Property Class Codes Booklet.
