Pursuant to Article 18-A, Section 856 of the Industrial Development Agencies, Organizations and Powers and St. Lawrence County Board of Legislators Resolution 172-78, the Industrial Development Agency was created. The purpose of this agency is to promote, develop, encourage and assist in the acquiring, constructing, reconstructing, improving, maintaining, equipping and furnishing industrial, manufacturing, warehousing, commercial, research and recreation facilities. This agency shall possess the ability to acquire, hold and dispose of personal property for its corporate purposes. The Industrial Development Agency may also purchase, grant, lease, and/or gift according to the provisions of the eminent domain procedure law.
Membership shall include not less than three (3) and not more than seven (7) members to be appointed by the Board of Legislators. These members may include representatives of local government, school board, organized labor and business. A member shall continue to hold office until his successor has been appointed and has qualified.
Term: Three years.
