The St. Lawrence County Fair Housing Task Force has scheduled a public hearing to give the public the opportunity to comment on the County’s draft Fair Housing Assessment. The public hearing will be held at a Fair Housing Task Force meeting on Tuesday, May 21st at 10:00 am in the One Stop Classroom A of the County Human Services Center, located at 80 State Highway 310 in Canton. Staff from the County Planning Office will provide an overview of the Assessment, which includes socio-economic and demographic information about county residents, an overview of the County’s housing programs, and goals and actions to improve housing services, address housing discrimination, and promote equal housing opportunity in St. Lawrence County. After the presentation, members of the public will be given the opportunity to offer their comments and suggestions on the draft Plan.
Beginning April 7th, a digital copy of the draft Plan will be available on the County’s Fair Housing Task Force website:

A hard copy of the draft plan is also available for review during normal business hours at the St. Lawrence County Planning Office (located on the first floor of the County Human Services Center). Anyone may also request a digital copy by emailing [email protected].
The County Human Services Center is accessible to persons with physical disabilities. Those who are unable to attend the public hearing in person may also participate via Zoom. After the public comment period has closed, the County Planning Office intends to present the Plan to the Board of Legislators on Monday, June 10, 2024. The Board of Legislators is anticipated to adopt the plan on July 1, 2024.
