Public Hearing on 03/21/2024 to receive public comment on St. Lawrence County’s Coordinated Transportation Plan
St. Lawrence County is preparing a Coordinated Transportation Plan that identifies existing public transportation gaps, duplication of services, and ways to improve its public transportation services. Once adopted, the Coordinated Transportation Plan will serve as a guide for the County, its Mobility Manager, and its bus operator on improvements and expansion of public transportation services over the next five years.

Transportation Office of The Arc Jefferson - St. Lawrence (located at 6 Commerce Lane, Canton); Volunteer Transportation Center, Inc. (3 Commerce Lane, Canton); and at the County Planning Office (1st floor of the County Human Services Center at 80 State Highway 310, Canton).
A public hearing has been scheduled to give the public the opportunity to provide comment on the draft Plan. The public hearing will be Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the 2nd floor conference room of the County Human Services Center, located at 80 State Highway 310, Canton. Staff from the County Planning Office and Volunteer Transportation Center, Inc. will present an overview of the Plan, then open the floor for discussion and feedback.
The public is invited to comment on the draft Plan by attending the public hearing on March 21, 2024. Those who cannot attend the public hearing in person may attend the public hearing via Zoom. After the public hearing is closed, written comments and suggestions on the Plan will be accepted until Thursday, March 28, 2024.
After the public comment period has closed, the County Planning Office and the County’s Mobility Manager intend to present the Plan to the Board of Legislators on Monday, April 8, 2024. The Board of Legislators is anticipated to adopt the plan in May 2024.
