County-Wide Burn Ban Extended Through July 17

As of Sunday, July 12, 2020, at 6:01 p.m. no person shall intentionally set an open fire throughout St. Lawrence County, with the exception of a small camp fire where the camp fires are built in fire rings that confine and contain the camp fire. This order supersedes all burning permits and will extend for five (5) days through Friday, July 17, 2020, at 6:00 p.m. unless rescinded or extended.

A State of Emergency was declared in St. Lawrence County from 6:00 p.m. on June 27, 2020, and ending at 6:00 p.m. on July 26, 2020 unless rescinded or extended. This executive order extended the initial bum ban that was issued on Saturday, June 27, 2020. The State of Emergency was declared due to extremely dry conditions causing numerous out of control grass and brush fires. Such conditions threaten the public safety of citizens of St. Lawrence County.

An exemption has been granted to fire departments involved in organized training with immediately available charged hand lines.
