Community Development Program Board of Directors

Per Article 41.13 of the NYS Mental Hygiene Law, the purposes of the Community Development Program Board of Directors is to advocate, foster, enable, and encourage preventive, intervention, treatment, and rehabilitative services for the alcoholic, substance abuser, the mentally ill/emotionally disturbed, and the mentally/developmentally disabled; to improve existing programs for people with disabilities to plan for the integration of community, regional and state services for these individuals to oversee and evaluate locally sponsored providers to include contract agencies, and other under its jurisdiction; and to plan and oversee the entire mental hygiene delivery system within St. Lawrence County.    

The Board shall have three standing committees, and Alcohol/Substance Abuse Subcommittee, Mental Health Subcommittee, and Mental Retardation/Developmental Disabilities Subcommittee.  Terms for subcommittee are four (4) years.

Terms:  four (4) year terms with no person serving more than two four-year terms consecutively.

CDP Phase 36 – Pertains to Emergency Food and Shelter and is sponsored by FEMA – meets quarterly and the Board of Directors attends.

Meets on the 3rd Wednesday at 9 a.m. at CDP Office, Canton (no meetings in July, August, and December) June meeting is held on the 3rd Thursday of the month.
