To seek a traffic reduction from this office you must take the Traffic Safety Course at the links below. Course must be completed within 10 days of starting.
The course cost is $55.00 and a $5.00 fee assessed by Advent.
DO NOT PLEAD GUILTY ON YOUR TICKET IF YOU ARE SEEKING A REDUCTION AND INTEND ON TAKING THE COURSE
You are NOT eligible to take this course and receive a reduction under the following circumstances:
If you were charged with speeding and your speed was greater than 41 mph over the posted limit or if your speed was over 100 mph -OR-
If you are charged with:
- Driving While Intoxicated
- Driving While Abilities Impaired
- Aggravated Unlicensed Operation
- Reckless Driving
- Suspended Registration
- Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury or Property Damage Accident
- Uninsured Driving
- Either A Misdemeanor or Unlawful Possession of Marijuana
- Child Seat Belt Violation( VTL 1129 C1 -1129 C2)
- Fail Due Care for Emergency Vehicle ( VTL 1144)
- Fail to Stop for (Overtake) School Bus ( VTL 1174a)
- Speed in School Zone
- Speed in Work Zone
- Use of Portable Electronic Device (VTL1225 C2 and 1225 D)
If You have had a reduction in the last 18 Months or If you have already sent your ticket into the court with a guilty plea
IF YOU HAVE A "FIX IT" TICKET (anything charged under Section 375 of the Vehicle and Traffic Law):
and you have fixed the problem no later than 1/2 hour after sunset on the first business day after receipt of ticket, contact the court for further instructions
